Australian Curriculum
Identify the parts of a simple sentence that represent ‘What’s happening?’, ‘What state is being described?’, ‘Who or what is involved?’ and the surrounding circumstances (ACELA1451)

Recognise that sentences are key units for expressing ideas (ACELA1435)

Understand that simple connections can be made between ideas by using a compound sentence with two or more clauses usually linked by a coordinating conjunction(ACELA1467)

Common Core Aligned
Produce and expand complete sentences in shared language activities.
Produce and expand complete simple and compound declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory sentences in response to prompts 
Produce, expand, and rearrange complete simple and compound sentences (e.g., The boy watched the movie; The little boy watched the movie; The action movie was watched by the little boy).

New Zealand Curriculum
1iii: Use simple planning strategies to organise their ideas and then apply their planning as they turn ideas into connected sentences.

2ii: Using both simple and compound sentences that vary in their beginnings and lengths (and in the simple conjunctions used) and that are usually grammatically correct.
