Australian Curriculum
Explore differences in words that represent people, places and things (nouns, including pronouns), happenings and states (verbs), qualities (adjectives) and details such as when, where and how (adverbs) (ACELA1452)

Recognise that texts are made up of words and groups of words that make meaning (ACELA1434)

Common Core Aligned
Understand and use question words (interrogatives) (e.g., who, what, where, when, why, how).
Use verbs to convey a sense of past, present, and future (e.g., Yesterday I walked home; Today I walk home; Tomorrow I will walk home).
Form and use the past tense of frequently occurring irregular verbs (e.g., sat, hid, told).
